Our History:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley is a locally governed, chartered member of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the nation’s fastest-growing youth service agency. Founded in
1860,
the movement began in Hartford, Connecticut to provide boys with a positive alternative to street life. Today, our branches in Bryan and Caldwell are part of a network of over 4,700 Clubs serving 4.6 million youth nationwide.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley began serving Bryan’s youth in
1959,
settling on William J Bryan in
1964.
It became the Boys Clubs of Brazos County in
1979
and transitioned to The Boys & Girls Club in 1990. The Caldwell branch opened in
2020.
Today, BGCBV serves over 1,500 youth annually through its Bryan Central Unit and Caldwell Unit. As of February 2022, the Bryan campus relocated to 1910 Beck Street at the Newman-Adam Bryan Club.
