Basketball Registration Opens on October 1st!

Basketball Age Division Details

Age Division Eligibility: 

The basketball league will consist of three divisions per gender: 

• 8U Boys/Girls Division 
• 10U Boys/Girls Division 
• 12U Boys/Girls Division 

• A player may be approved to play up a division, but never down (unless there is a disability approved by the Boys and Girls Club staff). Please refer to the different division regulations below: 
• A player’s age on the first day of registration for each sport will determine their age division for that season. Players will remain in that division for the duration of the season, regardless of whether they have a birthday during the season.
• Example: If basketball registration opens on October 1 and a player is 8 years old that day but turns 9 on October 4, they will remain in the 8U division. If a player turns 9 on September 30, before registration opens, they will be placed in the 10U division.
• Players may request to move up one age division. Requests must be submitted to BGC Athletics and are subject to approval.
  

Preseason Basketball Clinic/Parent & Coaches Meeting: 

• Date: Saturday, November 7
• Time: 8:30 - 9:45 am (8U) 10-11:15 (10U) 11:30-12:45 (12U) 

Practices: 

• November 9-January 8
• 1-2 practices per week, Monday-Friday 
• No practices Thanksgiving week (11/22-28)
• No practices 12/20-1/02
• Practices resume 1/05
• Periodic open gyms throughout the season. Time TBD.
• Time: 6:00, 7:00, or 8:00 pm on weekdays 

Games: 

• January 11-February 19, Saturday mornings/afternoon 
• 1-2 games per week, Monday-Saturday 
• Time: 6:00, 7:00, or 8:00 pm

Girls Championship Week

• Dates: February 22-26 
• Time TBD

Boys Championship Week

• Dates: March 1-5
• Time TBD
