Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley are proud to offer innovative programs designed to empower youth to excel in school, become good citizens and lead healthy and productive lives. Our club presents programs that are part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s national lineup, as well as programs that are unique to our organization locally.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America has a lineup of tested and proven nationally recognized programs that address today’s most pressing youth issues while teaching young people the skills they need to succeed in life.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s national programs have taken members from the Clubhouse to the White House;

Academic Success & Career Readiness
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley reinforces and enhances the skills and knowledge young people learn at school. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley reinforces and enhances the skills and knowledge young people learn at school. We create opportunities for high-yield learning activities, which include leisure reading, writing, discussions with knowledgeable adults, homework help, tutoring, helping others and games, like Scrabble, that help develop cognitive skills. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley also has an intensive summer learning and activity program that is helping to close the achievement gap for Brazos Valley youth. |
Good Character & Citizenship
Club leadership programs assist youth in developing social-emotional skills and the ‘soft skills’ that make them more confident as they navigate adolescence, enter college and seek to gain employment. Club leadership programs assist youth in developing social-emotional skills and the ‘soft skills’ that make them more confident as they navigate adolescence, enter college and seek to gain employment. With adult guidance, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley youth develop community service programs that provide opportunities for active learning, skill development and personal reflection. Through Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley, youth become involved in improving their communities and Clubs. This type of service has been linked to improved academic outcomes, making healthy life choices and a better relationship with school and community. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley youth also show increased levels of school effort, academic confidence, integrity and future connectedness. They are less likely to engage in risky behaviors such as aggression, teen pregnancy, carrying a weapon, use of alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs. |
Healthy Lifestyles
The Healthy Lifestyles Program addresses the distressing trends we see in children's health. We address the keys to a healthy body, mind and soul through four proven programs: Healthy minds need the support of healthy bodies. A future generation of active citizens begins by building healthy habits in our kids. Club programs help develop daily fitness, nutrition education, a positive use of leisure time, reduction of stress, understanding of healthy relationships, appreciation for the environment and social and interpersonal skills. 80% of Club alumni said the Club had a positive impact on their attitude toward fitness and health. |
