Club Volunteer Opportunities
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley lives and thrives because of the support and generosity of volunteers. Strong relationships with Texas A&M University and the community provides the opportunity each year for hundreds of volunteers to serve the Boys & Girls Club of the Brazos Valley members in many meaningful ways. All club volunteers must clear background check & complete online volunteer orientation.

As a volunteer, you can use your time and talents to serve in the following ways:
- After-School Snack Helper
- Assist and engage with members as they are served their daily after-school snack. Encourage positive behavior in cafe, guide members to take ownership of area and keep space clean, teach and reinforce good manners and eating habits. If you have a food handlers license, you can assist with serving members in the kitchen.
- Opportunities available daily Monday-Friday from 3:00PM-4:30pm
- Host a program or workshop
- Sharing your hobby & passion with youth can provide them with an experience that can change the course of their lives for the better. Options exist for one-time presentations or you can choose to host a series of classes or a summer club, while supporting Boys & Girls Club of America program curriculum. Potential topics can focus on STEM, theater, career exploration, environmental education, music, art, sports, and more!
- Opportunities available Monday-Friday from 5:00PM - 6:00PM, but there are options for flexibility (please contact Director or Programs and Latino Outreach, Fatima Burgueño at [email protected]).
- Recreation & Play Time Assistant
- Club members have daily supervised recreation time in the game room, gym, and outdoor spaces. Volunteers ensure members remain safe while playing, guide members through teachable moments by helping youth learn good sportsmanship, and develop meaningful mentor relationships by engaging youth through play.
- Opportunities available Monday-Thursday from 3:00PM-7:00PM and Friday from 3:00-6:00pm
- Assist with community events and fundraisers
- Volunteers can serve in various capacities at fundraising events hosted throughout the year or help represent the club and recruit new members at community events
- Opportunities are seasonal depending on upcoming events. To learn more email rbroades@bgcbv.org.
- Member Safety Volunteer
- Help ensure members practice safe habits and remain in only in adult-supervised areas. Volunteers roam the club space continuously, help monitor restroom entrances, and have opportunities to reinforce positive behavior, encourage and lift up members, and redirect members towards good choices.
- Opportunities available Monday-Thursday from 3:00PM-7:00PM and Friday from 3:00-6:00pm
- Members love participating in our Athletic program which currently offers basketball in the spring, track in the summer, and football in the fall each year. Coaches are needed year round to teach fundamentals while providing lessons in sportsmanship, emotional resiliency, and leadership.
- Opportunities are seasonal and vary by sport. For more information email Program Administrator Rodneshia Broades at [email protected].
