The Valley Summer Track & Field Information

 Summer Track & Field Program Information
League: Boys & Girls ages 6 - 18
Dates: Each summer in June & July
Coaching: Athletes coached by volunteer former track athletes
Sanctions: USA Track & Field & TAAF Regulated

Practices: 

• Davila Middle School at 6:00PM on Monday-Thursday
• Open practices for any interested athletes start in May - Dates TBD
• Official practices for all paid & registered athletes start in June & athletes are required to attend 2 practices per week to qualify for any meets
• Please note practice dates and times may change due to weather conditions such as rain or extreme heat. To receive notifications regarding schedule changes, please text @bgctrack22 to 81010.

Meets:

• Athletes will compete at 4 meets.
• Athletes will also have opportunity to qualify for Regional & National meets.
• Must attend 2 practices/week to qualify for participation in meets

Location:

• Practices at Davila Middle School & Track.
• Track Meets will be attended locally & in surrounding Central Texas area

Player Cost & Fees: 

• $85/athlete | $50/athlete interested in practice & conditioning only with no meet participation
• *$85 fee includes TAAF registration, athletic insurance through Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley, association fees and track uniform
• *fee does not include summer or school year membership for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley

Additional Fees:

• Parents will pay additional fees for each event athlete qualifies for at local, area, regional or national track & field meets

Coaches & Team Parent Opportunities

Coaches:  The Boys & Girls Clubs will be responsible for assigning coaches to the athlete age divisions. The Club is dependent upon volunteers to handle these assignments. Parents or volunteers experienced in track & field are invited to assist with coaching.

​To volunteer as a coach, please click here for coach volunteer registration information.
All coaches will be required to be registered club volunteers and pay a $20 fee to complete a background check.

• Coach Orientation & Training: Volunteer coaches will be required to attend a one hour training & orientation session.  Coaches will be emailed information regarding the time of these trainings after completing their volunteer registration and clearing a background check.​​
